There are so many talented Pet Society fans, and the previous contests here have all been visually-based.  So we thought it would be a good idea to let those of you who enjoy writing to show off your talent!

The next contest will be a poetry and short story competition.  Here are the rules:

1. Length of submission: poetry - no more than 25 lines, short story - no more than 1000 words
2. No profanity or inappropriate language/themes
3. Your submission must include a link to your Facebook Profile
4. The poem/short story must be related to Pet Society
5. Maximum of one entry per category per person
6. You must register on the forum before submitting you entry

There have been some huge developments in our neighbourhoods lately, and since Lauren and I have been on a little impromptu vacation (our computer was giving us some trouble *sniff*) for the past week or so, we just now saw all the changes! And a giant thanks to all my lovely neighbours who sent me notes updating me on these new features

The first thing we noticed was the Cafe… the construction is over! Its open! Woooo hoo! I know that so many of us fans were waiting anxiously for it to open and the day has finally arrived

You can choose to be a member of the Cafe Club or not when you show up, and the clerk is really helpful in explaining what its all about. Basically, if you are a member your pet will sometimes walk down to the Cafe on his or her own and meet other pets! Its a great way to expand your neighbourhood, because you have the option to visit that pet’s owner’s profile page on Facebook and add them right away.

There are some new items in Mystery Boxes too! I visited one of my well-to-do friends this morning, and she had so many rare items that you can’t ever find in shops! Check it out:

And last but not least, the bath tub is working now. I don’t know if its because someone came over and fixed it while Lauren and I were away, but its so lovely! I took a nice hot bath right when I woke up

As a little note, the voting for the screenshot contest will end shortly after the holidays, around January 4th. And I will be announcing the next contest in a day or two, so sorry for the delay everyone!

Here are all the entries! Take some time and look at them, they are great! Some are hilarious, adorable, just plain cool… you guys are super creative, and they’re all so unique… I’m glad that I don’t have to be the one to choose between them!

You can go to this thread in the forum and vote. Each person has 3 votes. You can’t vote for yourself, and with each vote you can say which category you think that person should win in, but you don’t have to (I will assign categories at the end if they don’t all fill up). Everyone who votes must have at least 5 previous posts and/or a link to their Facebook profile. I will update the “Contests” link above tomorrow to list all of these rules and the screenshots as well.

I’ll be posting tomorrow about the voting process, I think I need to tweak the process that occurred during the signature contest.

In the meantime, I’ll give you a little hint about the upcoming contest… It will involve your creative writing skills So put your minds to work coming up with the best Pet Society short story or poem, because that’s what it will take to win!

More info on both of those items will be announced tomorrow.

Hi guys! Great news: Playfish has launched the official version of the Pet Society Website. It’s a lot of fun to wander around. You can see the winners of their xmas card contest, catch the latest news, and they even have official merchandise now! You can sport Pet Society T-Shirts and Mousepads and Coffee Mugs… unfortunately they can’t be customized with your own pet just yet, but I have a feeling that is something they’ll consider down the road. For now, their designs are pretty cute. Check out the site and let me know what you think (but don’t forget about Pet Society Chatter! hehe).

I went to my front door today and what did I see? CHRISTMAS PRESENTS! Woo hoo!! I got so excited that I ran out in my Kimono (it was soooo cold, I’ll need to buy a nice warm winter jacket soon) to see if it was really true… and yes! The holidays have arrived at Pet Society!

Adorable snowmen, snow-covered trees, and white snowflakes falling from the sky… so beautiful!  Does anyone want to get together later and make snow angels?

Of course, the shops have been updated too… but this is by faaar the most stuff I’ve seen in the furniture shop! WOW! I can’t wait to start decorating my tree.  I can’t decide between the big one or the small one… I like the small one because its cute, but the big one can fit so many more shiny things on it… oh what to do!

What have you guys bought so far?  Now that the holidays are here, who still needs to do some shopping? I know I’m getting a little worried about some people on my list… they are so hard to buy for! Have you already put up your trees?
